Being a Catholic all of my life, I had only heard about the Rapture from my father's side (My dad became Catholic for my mom ) of the family (evangelical Protestant) and only then it was that all of "my kind were going to burn with Satan" . Great family times to be had there for a six year old.Anyway, I went to my parents' house one day and my mom is reading the Left Behind series and starts to tell me that I HAVE to read it. It's so good and it 's true ! What????!!!I was mad, but instead of reading the series, I borrowed "Are We Living in the End Times?" by Tim F. LaHaye & Jerry B. JenkinsThere it was in black and white. All of the things my dad's family had told me and more. Catholics worship the "devil" and even more crazy things. These authors are so misinformed with the Catholic religion and these people are making money hand over fist with this stuff. These people are Christian ???!! I was at a total loss ! Until ...I found this wonderful book ! I was able to understand when and where this Rapture doctrine started and I became able to calmly explain to my mom and others who loved Left Behind what all this Rapture stuff is about. This book explains things in even the most simple of terms so anyone can understand it. It explains the meaning of "end times", the "millennium", the different theories of premillennialism, postmillennialism, and amillennialism; the "tribulation", including when Christ will come back to earth and so much more!!Thank you, Dr Thigpen, when I see my "Left Behind" family again at the reunion, I can use your book to debate them . I know that I won't change their minds, but I won't be that 6 year old deer in the headlights. I will be informed about their beliefs more than they EVER cared to be about mine!
