Description
Greece isn't the only country drowning in debt. The Debt Supercycle—when the easily managed, decades-long growth of debt results in a massive sovereign debt and credit crisis—is affecting developed countries around the world, including the United States. For these countries, there are only two options, and neither is good—restructure the debt or reduce it through austerity measures. Endgame details the Debt Supercycle and the sovereign debt crisis, and shows that, while there are no good choices, the worst choice would be to ignore the deleveraging resulting from the credit crisis. The book: Reveals why the world economy is in for an extended period of sluggish growth, high unemployment, and volatile markets punctuated by persistent recessions Reviews global markets, trends in population, government policies, and currencies Around the world, countries are faced with difficult choices. Endgame provides a framework for making those choices.

mauldin and george friedman have something in common. they both help you think... they understand very basic concepts well. they searchagainst these concepts and try to help you navigate thru the noise. there is noise all over the place...where is the change coming from.. what is really happening. what will happen. how to try to forsee the change. this is the challenge. the information is there.. they help you. end game is a must read for everyone.. when we talk of corruption in the world we refer to economic opportunity and economic waste that goes into the pocket ofan individual. . there is moral component. however, waste is waste.. deficits and debt caused by waste do more harm that corruption because the amounts are very much more.. i dont condone graft.. but frankly i would rather have a political administration steal a billion dollars illegally thanborrow a few trillion with the blessing of congressional approval... debt has to be an instrument that governments should not be allowed to use..this latest round of capital created by the world that has and is being wasted by leaders of governments is criminal. it is creating poverty, delaying medical research, delaying technological advancement into space, delaying infra structure for economic facilitation et all..man needs a crisis tomake him change course..we even fool ourselves by statistics that are not always applicable.. debt to gdp ratios - of course it is debt to private gdp. if government is half of the economy ?? they never pay their share of debt..in the absolutely superb book of diarmaid mucculloch he speaks about the people of the ages of kings being ok with giving 25% of their income in taxes. when it approached 50 they revolted.. with democracy communist countries like france can take half of the economy for government.. japan spends a dollar and borrows fifty cents.. living christ what is wrong with these people.. if one earns 100 dollars and spends 101.. just one percent over.. one will be broke at some point in time.. now earning fifty cents and spending a dollar.. even if your father is bill gates. it will end..
